How Time Collector works

Time Collector™ automatically collects information about employees work patterns from data collection points. These are usually barcode swipe badge readers, although magnetic stripe readers or proximity detectors are also supported.

This information is then collated and analysed according to user-defined business rules governing all aspects of the working time environment.

Time Collector™ enables a user to set up or amend unlimited numbers of employees, shifts, working patterns, payment rules, overtime rules and penalty rules to cover almost every conceivable working practice.

The system also interfaces with other applications such as access control, payroll, personnel/human resources, project/job costing and manufacturing systems. These may be other modules in the Collector product range, existing application packages or bespoke applications.

It is easy to install and configure, requiring no knowledge of computer programming languages or techniques in order to create a fully functioning system. All information is held within a Microsoft Access relational database to support extensive, user definable, enquiries and printed reports.

Time Collector™ runs on IBM compatible PCs in a Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP or NT4 environment.

Time Collector™ is designed with the user in mind, with comprehensive, easy to read manuals and extensive on-line help facilities.

Training courses are available covering all aspects of the system, from the initial setting up of data right through to the generation of custom reports. This is supplemented by a telephone support desk, on-line support facilities and internet services.

A range of optional modules is available in order to extend the functionality of the basic product. The following modules are currently available:

Labour Booking
An easy to implement add-on module that records the time worked on individual jobs or operations by employees. This module also provides links to external computer systems including manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems.

Access Control
A building access control add-on where valid badges can be used to open electric door locks.
This can be used for general perimeter access control or to allow specified groups of employees to open specified doors during specified times.

Attendance Board
This module provides a graphical display of current employee attendance. A single Time Collector™ installation can support numerous Attendance Board clients, each of which has an isolation feature which can be used for a roll call in the event of a building evacuation.
